James McCarter joined the Concours d'Elegance of America in January of 2010.
McCarter graduated from Lahser High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. A car guy from the very start, he completed Chrysler’s MoTech Automotive Training Program before going on to earn an English Degree from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee. McCarter has been in the newspaper business since 1982. He has published newspapers in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan.
Prior to coming to the Concours, McCarter was Marketplace Advertising Director at Automotive News in Detroit.
McCarter says the key to creating a great event lies in the car selection process. The Concours d'Elegance of America in essence is an art exhibit: once a year the curators bring together works of art from all over the world for a one day display. They are culled from thousands of candidates by our car selection committee, which is comprised of 20 of the most knowledgeable automobile scholars, designers, engineers and collectors in the world.
Tina Pesek joined the administrative staff of the Concours d’Elegance of America in April 2007. Having experienced varied behind the scenes management of the Concours; she has been appointed Events Manager.
